Hello gorgeous! Thank you for visiting and taking an active interest in your skin. There’s a lot of information out there when it comes to skin care and figuring out fact from fiction can be frustrating, expensive and wasteful. My goal is to help my clients cut through the hype and clutter and design bespoke programs based on individual needs. No two people are the same. No two skins are the same. That’s why every skin care treatment and home care needs to be tailored to your specific needs. The one size fits all approach may work in some areas but certainly not with skin.

about Monika…

So a little about me, and how and why I chose skin to be the playground I work in.

Like many, I suffered with problematic skin and wanted to correct my teenage acne. Holistic approaches were not common at the time and medication was the order of the day. Determined to find out how skin worked (or didn’t) and how I could treat my own skin, I enrolled in esthetic school and graduated back in 1995/96. Loved it! I finished top of my class but now what? Where’s the postgraduate education? I needed to know more but research in a pre-Google world was limited.

After a few years of clinical practice the lack of access to quality education and resources was disappointing and I redirected energy towards another aspect of my education, a business degree. Loved it! Honors degree but now what? After a few years away from hands-on esthetics, I missed the treatment room and working on skin. It’s simply my happy place and where I was meant to be. After years of working for other spas it was time for more flexibility to create a comfortable space to educate and pamper my clients. In 2008, I opened my skin care clinic in my home in Lake Country and haven’t looked back.

Through many years of hands on clinical work and many courses, classes, workshops, textbooks, training sessions, symposiums, trade shows, lectures & webinars later and ongoing I continue to love skin and the complexity around each individual who comes through my door. The research being conducted in the skin care and wellness industry is phenomenal and it never gets boring!

When I’m not working in the spa you can probably find me walking my dog Scout, attempting to weed the garden, out on the soccer pitch or on a project with my Rotary club. While Scout’s not in the spa during your visit he’s always up for a little visit after you’ve had time to relax. Look for his guest appearances in my e-newsletters, Facebook & Instagram.
