I've been doing this for close to thirty years, and the biggest thing I've learned in that time is that no two people wax the same way. Skin sensitivity, hair growth, past irritation, even how nervous you are walking in the door, it all changes how I approach the appointment. So instead of running through the same routine for everyone, I adjust as I go.

What To Expect

I use professional wax and a technique built around speed and care, which sounds like a contradiction but really just means I don't linger longer than I need to. Most first-time clients are surprised by how quick and low-drama the whole thing is.
A few things that make a difference, especially if it's your first time: hair needs about a quarter inch of growth to wax properly, so if you've just shaved, we may need to wait a cycle. I'll always tell you honestly if that's the case rather than book you in for something that won't work well. Waxing generally lasts three to six weeks depending on your hair growth cycle, and it tends to get less uncomfortable the more regularly you do it, since the hair grows back finer over time.
Face and Brow Waxing
Brow shaping is one of the most requested services in the studio, and it's not just about removing hair, it's about shape that actually suits your face. I also do lip, chin, and cheek waxing for anyone dealing with stray or coarse hair in those areas, always with a light touch since facial skin is more reactive.
Body Waxing
Leg, bikini, Brazilian, underarm, arm, chest, and back waxing are all available. Brazilian waxing in particular gets asked about a lot, mostly some version of "how bad is it really." Discomfort is real but brief, and it gets easier with repeat visits. I walk every first-timer through what to expect before we start, not after, which is also why a first Brazilian appointment runs a little longer than a regular upkeep visit.
After any wax, avoid hot tubs, saunas, and tight clothing for about 24 hours, and skip exfoliating for a couple of days. Your skin will thank you.
Brow and Lash Tinting
Brow and lash tinting are the low-key favorites of the studio, mostly because clients forget how much they rely on them until they skip an appointment and suddenly need mascara again. Tinting darkens fair or light brows and lashes so they read more defined without any daily makeup, which is especially popular before summer, before a trip, or for anyone who swims regularly and doesn't want to deal with waterproof mascara.
A tint typically lasts three to four weeks for lashes and a bit longer for brows, since brow hair grows more slowly. It's a quick appointment, usually twenty to thirty minutes, and pairs well with a wax if you're already booked in. There's no downtime afterward. If you wear contacts, let me know beforehand so we can take a bit more care during the lash portion.
